About HKCPON

President Message

Self Photos / Files - Monica NgDear Fellow Members and Colleagues,

As I enter my second year as President of the Hong Kong College of Perioperative Nursing (HKCPON), I notice that we have never been more relevant and important for those of us practicing in Hong Kong and across the world.  I've come to think of the HKCPON network as one very large, multi-national, best in class in our perioperative nursing team.  A team that provides abundant opportunities to learn, teach, mentor, and share top quality perioperative nursing advice. A team that enables us to advocate, brainstorm, give back to our communities, meet, network and socialize with friends and colleagues all over the Hong Kong and even the world.
The changes around us—whether social, political, technological, scientific, economic or otherwise—require that we help our fellow members navigate through new and increasingly complex landscapes, which profoundly impact the environment for which we work for our communities.

I'm proud of our College's successes over these years, particularly in providing more opportunities for meaningful engagement of our members, introducing innovative programs and topics, and providing professional development and other opportunities.  In the year ahead, we will continue these initiatives, as well as adding programming designed for the different stages of your career, range of programs, and events held in collaboration with other professional bodies.

Thank you fellow members for your continued participation and enthusiasm in our professional, and Council members for your incredible support and advice. Finally, I'd like to give a special appreciation to our college advisors Dr Philip Chiu, Dr Paul Lai, Professor William Li and Professor Poon Wai Kong, and of course our legal advisor Mr Leo Chou, for their tireless work, guidance and support. Thank you all!
Wishing you a good and successful 2024, and looking forward to seeing you soon.

NG, Lai Kwan Monica
President of HKCPON
